Few job profiles have changed as much as Compliance Officer especially in non-financial companies since the beginning of this century. If a company had a Compliance function in its organizational chart 20 years ago, which was certainly the case for only a few, then it was the Junior Legal Counsel who was tasked with writing an anti-bribery and corruption guideline. This was written in a legal language, usually not translated in other languages or do's and don'ts, and distributed within the company by memo or in paper format. With that, one had done one's duty.
